It’s never too early to start thinking about that dream vacation! Going on a trip or vacation can be difficult to plan. Who is going? Where are you going? Do you find somewhere that is all inclusive or not? All of the excitement of the trip quickly takes over as you start to do research and read up on the different places you could visit. If you find yourself searching options in Europe or North Africa then Morocco, Tunisia, and Mallorca are all fantastic options that you may want to consider. And, these destinations are great if you want to go all-inclusive. While these places may not be your run of the mill island or fancy beach, they offer a different experience that you can enjoy fully.

All-inclusive resorts typically include everything you could need. Everything is included: meals, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), gratuities, lodging, etc. Depending on where you stay, you may have more amenities at your disposal. With a regular style of travel, like staying in a hotel, you lose some of these amenities but may save a little bit of money. However, you may lose some of the safety and comfort of an all-inclusive resort experience. In Morocco, Tunisia, and Mallorca, we stayed at the Iberostar-brand resorts, a highly regarded all-inclusive experience.

  1. Morocco

    A happy night in Morocco!

When we decided to go to Morocco, we focused our search on location, internationally recognized resort, and (of course) price. We wanted to have that big beach resort feel, but also have the culture of Morocco at our fingertips if we decided to venture out of our fancy hotel. So, we opted for the Iberostar Founty Beach Resort, located in Agadir, Morocco—a top 10 Moroccan city. Situated on the Atlantic Ocean, Agadir boasts a rich history. The name Agadir means citadel in the Berber language of Morocco and it, of course, has a Casbah (fortress), built in the 16th Century, sitting atop the hill along the coast. Other Agadir attractions include the Souk, which is the largest market in the region with 6,000+ shops. If haggling for some handicrafts or Moroccan souvenirs puts you too far out of your comfort zone, then chill out at Iberostar’s Founty Beach Resort—Founty translates as Bay of Palms! Here you’ll have amenities galore at your fingertips as this is TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Family Hotels Award for 2014! Here you can enjoy a full spa, pools, a nightclub,

supervised kid’s activities, shuttles, tennis courts, and you’re only steps away from the beach! This place is perfect for couples and families alike and offers something for everyone to enjoy. In fact, the Spouse in our twosome won the darts competition and the Soldier won the ping-pong tournament! As a side note, if your skin is on the browner side or if you tan easily (as is the case for my Spouse), then be prepared to be spoken to in Arabic while on the beach or around town, as the locals may think you’re a fellow Moroccan! Check out Chapter 17 in our book for the hilarious interaction my Spouse had while sunbathing on Founty Beach in Agadir, Morocco!

  1. Tunisia

Think this is in Greece? No, it’s Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia!

Tunisia has so much to offer, especially at the Iberostar Averroes. Here, it offers two restaurants—a buffet-style restaurant and an Italian themed restaurant—three bars, activities for children, and a luxury spa to enjoy! What’s more, it has direct beach access and themed parties on a regular basis. The resort is also located only a short walk away from Casino La Medina, Carthage Land (a themed waterpark), and you could go on day trips to the capital of Tunis or try your luck at riding camels through the desert! So why not book your next all-inclusive stay at the Iberostar Averroes? This resort is another TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Family Hotels Award for 2014! And, you’ll be staying at Tunisia’s #1 tourist destination that is particularly known for its jasmine, and you can say you visited the land of Tatooine—you know the famous planet from the Star Wars films as those scenes were shot in Tunisia! Compared to a regular hotel, you may not get the private beach access or the ability to see so much. The convivence of having everything you need in one location can make a world of a difference.

  1. Mallorca

    Can’t beat this view!

Thinking about an “adults only” resort? Look no further than the Iberostar Suites Hotel Jardín del Sol in Mallorca, Spain—a Spanish island in the picturesque Mediterranean Sea. Mallorca is a famous party and beach destination for Europeans so why not join the fun and indulge in this all-inclusive hotel? This resort is the perfect place for romance with your special someone and is within close proximity to a host of activities. You can walk to shops and restaurants and even stumble your way back to the resort after a night out partying and bar-hopping. During the day, you can relax topless by the pool overlooking the sea in this private resort meant only for couples. My Spouse went topless and I wore my Speedo—hey we wanted to blend in rather than stand out! Want to experience more of Mallorca? No problem. Rental cars are cheap and you can drive around much of this mountainous island in a day, stopping at the Old City of Palma, the Palma Aquarium, the 14th Century Palma Cathedral, or at one of the many lookout points along the coast.

Enjoy a vacation with your family and not worry about things like not knowing the language or where to go and how to get there. All-inclusive resorts offer you the ability to be completely stress free as you enjoy your vacation.

Love the all inclusive resorts. When we lived in Germany, we went to Mallorca for spring break. We ended up at a German resort where nobody spoke English. It was interesting trying to communicate in German to Spaniards at the resort!
